LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT/DESIGNER & LAND USE PLANNER

This analytic, yet creative person with great problem-solving skills, will be instrumental in continuing the success that our 50 employees have attained over the years.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design and prepare jurisdictional code-compliant and client desired development plans for projects such as:
o Subdivisions and other land divisions;
o Commercial/retail/office and industrial developments;
o Recreational facilities/parks;
o Other institutional development, such as hospitals, schools, etc.
• Design and prepare landscape plans, irrigation plans, landscape and irrigation construction details, and landscape and irrigation specifications for above development projects.
• Communicate with clients, engineering and survey personnel, consultants (geotechnical engineers, traffic engineers, environmental consultants, etc.), architects, and jurisdictional agency staff on projects.
• Compile and analyze data on site-specific conditions such as zoning, code compliance, geographic location and existing landform; soil, vegetation, and rock features; drainage; and location of structures for preparation of environmental reports and development of site/subdivision and landscape plans.
• Prepare permit (site plan review, subdivision, Conditional Use Permit, shoreline, etc.) application packages, including preparation of project narratives, SEPA checklists, etc. meeting jurisdictional submittal requirements and submit applications to the jurisdiction.
• Review in-progress construction work on-site to ensure compliance with landscape specifications, to approve quality of materials and work, and to advise client and construction personnel.
• Supervise office assistants in compiling submittal package material.
• Oversee monthly invoicing on managed projects.
• Manage multiple clients, projects and deadlines.
• Organize and maintain project schedules and tract milestone dates.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture.
• 2-year landscape design experience.
• Knowledge of design software (such as AutoCad, Civil 3d and similar), database software, word processing software and project management software.
• Landscape architect registration/licensing from Washington and Oregon preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written communication skills and report writing.
• Ability to read, understand, analyze and interpret a variety of informational sources, plans and reports.
• Ability to read, understand, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
