August 8, 2017; Olson Engineering, Inc is pleased to announce the acquisition of the employees and assets of The Resource Company (TRC) as of August 1, 2017. TRC is now known as Olson Environmental, LLC and will operate from their current home base, as well as the Olson Engineering (OEI) office. OEI began in 1968 as a survey company and has added civil engineering, land-use planning, and landscape architecture over the years to better serve clients. Jerry Olson, CEO and founder of OEI said of the change, “While we currently provide excellent service, we have always operated our business with the mission that we want to still be here and be even better in 30 years time. Providing environmental services to our clients supports that long-standing mission.”
Kevin Grosz, P.W.S., established TRC in 1991 and has been involved in over 2,500 natural resource projects (wildlife habitat, wetland delineations, mitigation planning, stream/riparian zone restoration) for both public and private sector clients in Washington and Oregon. Along with permitting experience on the local, state and federal level, Olson Environmental can provide GIS mapping and mitigation plans that include monitoring and maintenance components. Maintenance services include monitoring, noxious plant removal (mechanical and chemical control) and a staff member licensed to apply aquatic herbicides in critical areas. TRC brings over fifty current projects and four new employees to the OEI roster. Mr. Grosz, now Environmental Services department manager said, “We are excited to be a part of Olson Engineering. TRC has worked with OEI for more than twenty-five years as a subconsultant, we are now looking forward to providing environmental services to our clients with greater efficiency.”
Getting ready to celebrate fifty years in business in the next year, this strategic acquisition shows the company is ready for the future. Having the ability to address environmental regulations under the same roof as the other services will make Olson more agile in responding to project requirements.
